Meeting of Classics, Jazz and Ethno at the Square of Music

As part of the jubilee 20th edition of the Guitar Art Summer Fest, the audience in Herceg Novi can expect a special musical evening with a performance by the virtuoso Hungarian trio led by the renowned classical and jazz guitarist Antal Tony Pusztai.

The concert will be held on 3 August at the Square of Music, and the audience will have the opportunity to hear the premiere of new musical material released under the title Just for You. Admission to the concert is free.

This unique concert brings together a meeting of classics, jazz and ethno, blending different musical traditions into a contemporary and authentic sound. Through virtuose interpretations, improvisation and strong stage energy, the trio takes the listeners on an exciting musical path filled with emotion, passion and superb artistic expression.

The new album Just for You confirms the recognisable sensibility of Antal Pusztai and his collaborators, blurring the boundaries between genres and creating music that equally wins over lovers of classics, jazz and world music sounds. Their arrangements are much more than mere interpretation – they represent essentially recreated works in which tradition and contemporary musical expression intertwine.

Antal “Tony” Pusztai is a unique performer who masters both classical guitar and jazz at the highest level. Born in Hungary, he began honing his exceptional talent in childhood, later studying at the Conservatory in Győr and the prestigious University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Alvaro Pierri. His career has been crowned with as many as fifteen first prizes at the most significant world competitions in Europe and the USA. He has collaborated with legendary names such as Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola, George Benson and Lee Ritenour, on whose album Twist of Rit (nominated for a Grammy Award) he participated as a soloist. Alongside his solo work and leading his own trio, Pusztai has also been a permanent member of the Fortissimo Band since 2017.

Tony Pusztai

The musical material of the new trio of Antal Pusztai, entitled Just for You, is based on original compositions, but also on works from the world of classical music and jazz that have exerted a decisive influence on all members of the ensemble. These arrangements are much more than mere interpretation – they represent fundamentally recreated pieces in which tradition and contemporary musical expression intertwine. All three members are creative musicians who actively participate in the compositional process, bringing about a meeting of classical, jazz, and folklore from a completely new perspective. Their sound is characterised by brilliant virtuosity, striking melodies, and a modern approach that erases strict boundaries between genres.
