Tamara Jokić Quartet

The talented singer, songwriter, and composer Tamara Jokić blends Balkan intensity, Portuguese fado melancholy, and fiery Spanish flamenco, making her concert unforgettable – music as a universal language that speaks of love, loss, passion, anger, and heritage.

Within the framework of the jubilee 20th Guitar Art Summer Fest, a major concert by Tamara Jokić will be held on 5 August at the Music Square (Trg od muzike) in Herceg Novi. Entrance to the concert is free.

Tamara Jokić, with her band consisting of: Dušan Popović Lipovac – guitar, Manos Stratis – bass, and Petar Zorkić – percussion, will perform tracks from both of her albums at the concert – on the first, "Transibérica", fado and flamenco melodies evoke the breath of the Iberian Peninsula, while on the album "Kuća" (Home) she deeply explores her Balkan roots, creating a unique blend of regional traditions and contemporary sounds.

Particularly highlighted is the song "Vranjanka" from her latest album "Kuća", which was recorded in New York with international musicians, carrying within itself the essence of passion, heritage, and identity. The audience has described this interpretation as a kind of anthem to the Balkan soul, emotionally powerful and deeply sincere, performed with a voice formed under the influence of brilliant musicians from Berklee.

Tamara Jokić was born in Serbia and expanded her musical horizons through her studies of Spanish and Portuguese language and literature at the University of Belgrade, before receiving a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she further developed her voice and composing talent. Her career has spanned years, with performances worldwide, including prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, and the National Theatre in Slovenia. With more than ten languages in her repertoire, Tamara is an artist who, through music, establishes a true dialogue between cultures and traditions.

Do not miss an evening when Balkan energy, fado sadness, and flamenco passion create a unique atmosphere, where every note carries a special story – a story of universal emotions that unite us.
