XX aniversary of
Guitar Art Summer Fest

20 years with you!

Dear friends, esteemed people of Herceg Novi,

Over the past twenty years, I have watched the sound of the guitar slowly become an invisible resident of Herceg Novi, a part of its walls, stairways, and summer evenings. What was once an idea for a guitar festival has today become a gathering place for artists, friends, and audiences from different parts of the world. Through the Festival, year after year, this city has grown into a meeting space for people who found a common language in music, creating an atmosphere that brings many happily back to Herceg Novi today.

Our guitar music has, throughout all these years, filled Kanli Kula and the squares of the city, and audiences have experienced magical performances by artists such as Yorgos Dalaras, Luz Casal, Tommy Emmanuel and many other masters of classical, flamenco, fado, world and jazz music. This year, with immense pride, the legendary Bryan Adams comes to Herceg Novi and Montenegro for the very first time. It is a special moment that confirms the greatness and ambition of our festival and the city itself.

What we have been building over two decades is not just a programme and a series of concerts. We have been building a space where friendships were born, encounters took place and memories were made. It is a living space for art, a community that we build together with you, dear people of Herceg Novi, every single day. Your perseverance, love and dignity have elevated Herceg Novi to the status of a place that is synonymous with history, art, music, and above all, the guitar.

When I first laid eyes on Herceg Novi, I knew it was the Mediterranean city where I wanted to create a festival. I wanted to build a place where friends gather to create, talk and play music together. After twenty years of Guitar Art Summer Fest, I can say proudly, and with confidence, that I have succeeded. In Herceg Novi, every note was played from the heart, creating a unique melody that echoes through stone walls and through our souls. Many of my friends and fellow artists today consider Herceg Novi their second home, a place they miss and always wish to return to. That is the most beautiful gift a festival can receive.

Our mission remains unchanged – for Guitar Art Summer Fest to continue to grow and become an essential destination on the map of the world's great summer festivals, while staying true to what makes it unique: the closeness between artists, audience and city

And now, as we look with excitement towards the third decade of our festival, I am delighted to announce our biggest edition yet. The jubilee we are celebrating is not only a moment to look back on everything we have achieved over the past twenty years; it is also the beginning of a new period of growth. We are bringing a richer and more ambitious programme concept, one that will further strengthen the magic of this city and show the world why people keep returning to Herceg Novi, and why this festival holds such a special place in so many hearts.

Dear people of Herceg Novi, together we are entering a new era of the festival. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of our story all these years. Your support and belief in what we do is the strength without which we would not be standing here today.

Guitar Art Summer Fest is a festival that is loved. Together, we continue this beautiful story.

Yours,
